2006 Crowded
Lodi and Paso Robles
Our 2006 Crowded is a blend of wine made from grapes grown on family & friends vineyards in Paso Robles and Lodi . The Sangiovese and Petite Sirah provide red fruit flavors of raspberry and strawberry; the Syrah and Cabs add dark fruit, depth, and complexity; the Zinfandel brings spice and a subtle hint of mint; and French oak tops it all off with fun nuances of vanilla and mocha. This blend, with its smoothness and finesse, is sure to please even the most eclectic crowd with a broad range of palates. Drink now or can be cellared through 2011.

2005 Montepulciano
Carneros
Francis planted this variety after his trip with Kathy to Italy in 2000. This red grape is not the Sangiovese clone (called Prugnolo Gentile) of Vino Nobile de Montepulciano in Tuscany, rather it is the Montepulciano widely planted in the hills of central Italy along the Adriatic, most notably in the Abruzzo region. Grown in the cool Las Brisas Vineyard, it makes an intensely scented and flavored wine full of plums, blackberries and spice, with firm acidity and pleasant tannins.

A completely unique Estate blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot.
Blending in winemaking is like a great chef cooking. You sense the flavors and find harmony between them.
Cougar Pass started this way.
It turned out that the blend was more than the elements individually.
Now you understand how Cougar Pass got its delightful fruit, friendly mouth-feel, and the complexity of flavors that it carries.
The wine is totally un-fined and unfiltered which means that it has conserved all the qualities that the nature and the winemaking gave it.
Concentrated and rich with finely textured, soft and supple tannins, Cougar Pass is a red wine lover’s experience not to miss!

90pts from Stephen Tanzer! Our Rockin One is a blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, and Grenache. Syrah provides a strong tannin base with a velvety finish, while the Mourvedre adds a smoky nose with ample tobacco supporting it. With a strawberry-jam nose and spicy finish, a good swirl and you can understand what Grenache adds to the blend. Our Rockin One goes nicely with guava glazed pork tenderloin, but don't be afraid to enjoy as an after meal treat on your back patio, with a glass in one hand and a cigar in the other.

The black magic is back…Phantom. Three unique varietals combine lush berry and fierce spice into a full-bodied wine. Intensely fruit forward on the entry, this deep ruby apparition begins with aromas of blueberries, violets and chocolate-covered cherries, dusted with touches of black pepper. From the deep dark depths, subtle notes of spice, clove and mocha emerge and compliment the concentrated fruit characters of this wine. Aging for two years in 1, 2 and 3 year-old American oak barrels has yielded a vexing array of toasty oak aromas to Phantom.

2005 The Mask
Napa Valley
While some wines are crafted to be savored and cellared, others embody a more easy-going charm. Reflecting our desire to create a red wine filled with rich, fruit character at an approachable price, we are pleased to unveil The Mask—a second label wine using great Napa Valley grapes.
The 2005 growing season was a winemaker’s dream—delivering big crops of amazing fruit. In fact, in anticipation of the “bumper’ 2005 yields, we dropped large amounts of grapes to create added-depth and concentration in our Cabernet Sauvignon. Even so, we found ourselves with more fruit than we needed to craft the small-lot, 500-case bottling of our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon—a wonderful dilemma to have. Inspired by this abundance of top fruit, we took a playful detour in our winemaking journey, to create a vibrant red that’s just plain fun to drink.
Blending a bit of whimsy and adventure, The Mask brings together a selection of our 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, with some tasty up-valley Zinfandel, and a touch of Syrah. Wrapped around a Cabernet core, the Zinfandel adds sweet fruit notes, while the Syrah brings a hint of Rhône-inspired structure and richness. The fateful result is a
